Krang Suri Falls
About Krang Suri Falls
Krang Suri Falls is widely considered one of the most beautiful and photogenic waterfalls in Meghalaya. The falls cascade over black rocks into a stunning pool of vivid turquoise-blue water, framed by tropical jungle on all sides. The color of the water — caused by mineral deposits — is almost unbelievably beautiful in photographs and even more so in person.
The approach to the falls involves a 1–2 km walk through bamboo groves and forest paths. Swimming is permitted in the natural pool at the base, and the cool clear water makes for a refreshing dip after the trek. The falls are often less crowded than Cherrapunji-area sites, making for a more serene experience.
Krang Suri is best combined with a Dawki River trip, as both are in the Jaintia Hills region. The route passes through scenic countryside and Jaintia tribal villages, offering a culturally rich journey.
