Dawki — Umngot River

Dawki is home to the Umngot River — widely considered the cleanest river in Asia. The water is so crystal clear that boats appear to be floating on glass, with the riverbed perfectly visible beneath them. Photographs of Dawki have gone viral worldwide, and seeing it in person is nothing short of magical.

The river serves as a natural border between India and Bangladesh. You can take a boat ride across the glassy water, visit the suspension bridge over the river, or simply sit on the banks and soak in the surreal scenery. The surrounding hills and forested banks add to the dreamlike quality of the place.

Dawki hosts an annual boat race every March, bringing local communities together. The nearby Bangladesh border check-post also makes it a unique cultural experience, blending the cultures of two nations at a serene riverside.
